Meeting Parents Where They Dream!

I didn’t know who to turn to when I found out I was pregnant. I really wanted to keep this baby. Thanks for picking up my phone call and talking to me

Parent Focus Groups

First 1,000 Days hosted 12 Parent Focus Groups across the region, gathering information about parents and caregivers’ dreams, goals, and the barriers they face in the community.

Barriers & Solutions

After holding Parent Focus Groups throughout the region, we were able to compile the most common barriers that parents and caregivers face. Below are the top five identified needs we heard about (other than housing and childcare).

During our Full Partner Meeting, we shared this important information with professionals and parents. We cycled through all five categories and asked what organizations and programs offer these services. After assembling the fantastic feedback we received through the chat box, we were able to create a mural of services offered in Sarasota, Manatee, and DeSoto counties. If you know of other organizations who provide a service or if your agency is not listed in the mural, please reach out to us at first1000days@smh.com so we can add to it.
